Unbound Energy Drink Again Dominates The Top Ten In Outdoor MX
Chad Reed, Tim Ferry, Nick Wey & Kyle Lewis all make the top ten at Unadilla!
CARLSBAD, Calif., (July 17, 2006) – Unbound Energy Drink was again the dominant energy drink throughout the top ten of the Outdoor Nationals’ premier AMA Motocross class, this past weekend at Unadilla placing four of its riders in the top ten overall.
Unbound Energy Drink’s top dog all year, Yamaha’s Chad Reed,
unfortunately landed off the podium for the first time in six races,
going 4-4 for 4th overall. Reed still has a solid hold on second
place overall in the standings, trailing series points leader Ricky
Carmichael by 44 points, 292-248.
Next up for Unbound Energy Drink, with his best finish of the year so
far, was Unbound Energy/Moto XXX’s Tim “Red Dog” Ferry. The
legendary Floridian racer went 5-5 for 5th overall and moved into the
top ten overall in the points standings – the only racer in the top
ten overall in points to have missed two rounds (Hangtown and Mt.
Morris). Ferry’s Unbound-fueled finishes have progressively gotten
better, going from 7th to a couple 6ths to 5th this past weekend at
Unadilla.
“I’m just out there having fun and my results happen to be getting
better each week,” said Ferry. “I think the key has been for me to
stay relaxed, while pushing myself to a level where I’m comfortable
at. Every week I continue to gain strength and stamina and making the top five this past weekend was my way of thanking the sponsors
who’ve believed in me this summer, including Unbound Energy Drink.”
Close behind Ferry in 7th overall (7-7) was Unbound Energy Drink-
backed Nick Wey of the MDK Motorsports team. Wey put up a solid
performance on the day, highlighted by a come-from-behind performance in the all-important second moto (12th to 7th).
Also making the top ten was the fast-charging Kyle Lewis of the
Unbound Energy/Moto XXX team. Lewis didn’t pull his usual rocket
ship starts in both motos (10th & 12th after the first lap), but more
importantly rode strong through out the two motos to finish 10-9 for
9th overall. Lewis also closed to within 18 points of the top ten
(99-81).
Unbound Energy/Moto XXX’s Josh Summey made the top 20 after some difficulties in the second moto (12-32 for 17th o/a). He remains in the top ten overall with 99 points.
All of the Unbound Energy Drink-backed athletes – including Ryan
Abrigo and Daniel Sani of the new Unbound Energy/MD1/Tokyo Mods/Fox Racing Team - return to action for Round Seven of the 2006 Toyota AMA Motocross Championship at Thunder Valley in Lakewood, Colo. (July 23rd).
Unbound Energy Drink is available in 16 oz. cans at BP and am/pm
retail locations, with more locations and a Sugar-Free Unbound coming soon!
