  • Air Nautiques A+ Scholarship program returns to Loretta Lynn’s

For Immediate Release
July 7, 2006

Morgantown, WV – The best amateur racers in the country come to the Air Nautiques AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships every year to showcase their tremendous talents on the racetrack. This year the racers will have the opportunity to display their success in the classroom as well, as the Air Nautiques A+ Scholarship program returns to Loretta Lynn’s.

The Air Nautiques A+ program puts the spotlight on riders that excel in the classroom and on the racetrack. Riders who maintain a grade point average of B or above will be able to display a special A+ decal on their number plates. To qualify for the A+ decal, each racer must bring a report card from the past school year to the event. Report cards can also be faxed to the race at 931-296-3378. With the A+ decal, families, industry personnel and fellow racers will recognize your efforts off the track

Riders that qualify for the A+ decal have the opportunity to win $2,500 in Air Nautiques scholarship money. To be eligible for the scholarship, the rider must submit an essay on "How motocross has made you a better student." Judges will review each essay and award $2,500 in scholarship money. Essays must be received at the MX Sports trackside office by Wednesday, August 2.

The 25th Anniversary AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships at Loretta Lynn’s is the world’s largest amateur motocross race. Over 23,000 entries attempted to qualify in 33 classes for the event, which begins Monday, July 31st, with motos beginning Tuesday, August 1st and concluding on Saturday, August 6th.
