Voting Open on espn.com until July 8th. VOTE NOW!
June 27, 2006 (Newport Beach, CA) Jeremy Twitch Stenberg has been nominated for an ESPY Award in the category of Best Male Action Sport Athlete 2006. Voting is open to the public on www.espn.com (keyword "ESPY") until July 8th, so if you're a
Jeremy fan, a moto fan, or just a good Samaritan, log on and vote now! The awards will be announced July 12th and televised on ESPN July 16th.
Jeremy is honored to be in great company with action sport icons like Shaun White and Jamie Bestwick.
After back-to-back X Games Gold medals, and breaking the World Record for the longest backflip at 155 feet, one handed, Jeremy has earned the respect of his peers as one of the most naturally talented FMX riders in the world. The nomination comes just days after a crash at the Panasonic Open in Louisville that has left Jeremy with
two broken legs, and a vow to be back in action to defend his Gold Medals at the X Games!
Although his prognosis is excellent and doctors speculate he might be back in time for the Right Guard Open in Denver, Jeremy was incredibly disappointed with the outcome in Louisville. Being nominated for an ESPY as the "Best Male Action Sports
Athlete" was tremendously positive news at a tough time for this FMX warrior.
"I'm just excited that I've even been nominated", said Jeremy. "I already feel like I'm blessed because I get to ride for a living. To then be recognized as one of the best athletes in action sports where there are so many amazing riders, really makes me feel
like all my hard work is paying off."
"I'm really happy for Jeremy. He's come a long way", said Rich Swisher of the Sports Syndicate. "In the last couple years he's really focused on being the best athlete and rider he can be. He doesn't just rely on his natural talent, although he probably could. He trains really hard with his trainer, and on the track every day. He's one of the most
dedicated riders I've ever worked with. It's all coming together for Jeremy and I'm really proud of him. Whether he wins or not, this is an amazing acknowledgment of his ability. But of course, we hope he wins!"
Jeremy's sponsors, including Sobe, Ecko, Etnies, Thor, Parts Unlimited, Boost Mobile, Dunlop, Pro Circuit, Panasonic Oxyride and Utopia are stoked to have an ESPY nominated rider and are helping to rock the vote on their sites! Check it out and make sure you vote!
