Carmichael & Villopoto Take Round One Of Monster Energy/Kawasaki Triple Crown Of MX
Monster Energy’s Ricky Carmichael won the $25,000 last year. Can he
repeat for $30,000 this year? Also, Villopoto has a shot a $10,000
payday
CARLSBAD, Calif., (June 1, 2006) – The first round is in the books for
the 2nd annual Monster Energy/Kawasaki Triple Crown of Motocross – a
$72,000 winner(s)-take-all bonus program, part of the AMA MX Nationals.
And aligning themselves with the generous cash prizes if they can sweep
all three Monster Energy/Kawasaki Triple Crown rounds (High Point,
RedBud & Steel City) were a couple of racers already running the
iconic glowing green clawed “M” logo – Ricky Carmichael and Ryan
Villopoto.
Should they be able to sweep the next two rounds of the Monster
Energy/Kawasaki Triple Crown of Motocross, Carmichael would capture an
additional $30,000 for winning the premier Motocross class, while
Villopoto would become $10,000 richer for winning the Lites class. As
it stands following High Point both racers were $4,500 richer after
receiving the $1,500 for the top pro in each class, along with a custom
Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki KLX 110 mini cycle (valued at
$3,000).
“We were excited with the buzz at High Point over the Monster Energy/
Kawasaki Triple Crown,” said Scott Sepkovic of Crown Athlete Management
Group. “People all week were stopping by the Monster Energy trailer,
sampling the product and talking about how great it was to have Monster
Energy aboard with motocross. So the word on the street with the
Monster Energy/Kawasaki Triple Crown of Motocross is definitely getting
out there and we’re looking forward to picking right back up in a month
here at RedBud.”
Monster Energy and Kawasaki also rewarded the top privateers in each
class at High Point with a check for $1,000. In the Motocross class is
was David Vuillemin, while in the Lites class Danny Smith took top
privateer honors.
In addition to the sizable bonus opportunity – which this year includes
$1,500 to the top pros in each class, $1,000 to the top privateers,
Monster Energy & Kawasaki – in cooperation with Pro Circuit –
awards the top pro placer in both Motocross and Lites classes a custom
Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki KLX 110 mini cycle (valued at
$3,000). That’s six custom Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki mini
bikes and $21,000 in cash!
Monster Energy, the multiple-year sponsor of the Kawasaki/Pro Circuit
team, has been involved in the great sport of motocross for several
years now. Synonymous with the action sport movement, the Monster
Energy glowing green “Clawed M” logo can be seen nationally from one
end of the action sports spectrum to the other.
