Team Aprilia Pacifico Race Report, Infineon CA
Supermoto USA Infineon, CA.
We had a three week break since the last race which was great to get things in order before Infineon. We selected to ride the 450 SXV in this event.
Friday Practice
As it was raining the dirt was cut out for the day, the track was really tight and slippery.
Saturday Timed Qualifying - 4th
The sun was out and qualifying was a one lap super pole system, my time was good enough to put us on the front row.
Final 1st Moto - 19th
I got a great start and lead into the dirt section, I tried to make a break from the pack to avoid any contact from the other riders but grabbed a little too much front brake and went down. By the time I got it re started I was a lap down on the field and worked my way back to 19th.
Final 2nd Moto - 2nd
Again another holeshot, but this time I was more conservative and kept it on two wheels. I lead all the way till the last lap, where I was stuck behind a lap rider, I tried to select my moment but he really blocked me bad, allowing the 2nd place rider to go underneath me four corners from the end.
Summary
It was a good weekend, the 450 SXV bike really showed its great potential. Our plan is to start coming stronger from this point on and to gain as many Championship points possible.
