Hangtown And Honda Agree To Title Sponsor Deal
AMA MX Nationals series opener will feature Honda as title
sponsor, joining Off-Road Outlets and Dan Gamel RV as presenting
sponsors
PRAIRIE CITY, Calif., (May 12, 2006) - The Dirt Diggers North
Motorcycle Club (DDNMC), producers and promoters of the 38th annual
Hangtown Classic, announced today that Honda has signed as the title
sponsor for the opening round of the 2006 Toyota AMA Motocross
Championship.
"The Dirt Diggers are pleased to announce that Honda - with its
long-standing reputation as the world's premier off-road motorcycle
manufacturer - has signed on as the title sponsor of what we certainly
feel is the world's premier motocross event - the 38th annual Honda
Hangtown Classic," said John Konkle, President of the DDNMC. "For
nearly 40 years we've been racing motocross up in this neck of the
woods and our all-volunteer Dirt Digger members have been working hard
to prepare for what should prove to be one heck of an opener for the
upcoming AMA Nationals season.
"Great to have Honda aboard and we look forward to seeing everybody the weekend of May 21st!"
In addition to Honda, the DDNMC and Hangtown also announced that
Off-Road Outlets and Dan Gamel RV Centers will again be the presenting
sponsors for the Hangtown Classic. Off-Road Outlets
(www.offroadoutlets.com), based out of nearby Rancho Cordova, is a
longtime sponsor/supplier at the Hangtown Classic and Gamel RV
(www.gamel.com) has for several years now been the 'official' RV of
Hangtown.
"Off-Road Outlets has a long and storied history with the Hangtown
Classic," said Konkle. "Not only are they here during the pro National
weekend, but they also lend a supporting hand at all of our other
amateur motocross events - including the AMP Amateur Nationals. We're
pleased to have Off-Road Outlets with us again as the presenting
sponsor for this year's Honda Hangtown Classic."
Konkle continued: "Dan Gamel RV has also been with us for a number of
years now and we're excited to have them back for this year's Honda
Hangtown Classic. Motocross and RV'ing have come to enjoy a symbiotic
relationship over the years and what a better place for Dan Gamel to
showcase its amazing vehicles than Nationals weekend at Hangtown."
The 38th annual Honda Hangtown Classic, presented by Off-Road Outlets
and Gamel RV, kicks off with the Hangtown Amateur Days beginning
Thursday, May 18th. The 38th annual Honda Hangtown Classic is scheduled
