  • Supercross finale to be Broadcast Live on SPEED

AURORA, Ill. (May 3 , 2006) – As one of the closest points chases in series history prepares for its season finale on May 6 at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, fans of Amp’d Mobile World Supercross GP/Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series will be treated with 3.5 hours of live television coverage on SPEED at 10 p.m. ET.

SPEED will cover more than 3.5 hours of racing, including the Amp’d Mobil World Supercross GP/Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series and both divisions of the Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Lites in an East-West Shootout. The 10 races of live coverage will consist of the entire night’s racing program, including all heat races, semi-finals, last chance qualifiers and main events.

Television viewers tuning into the live broadcast are sure to see an epic battle between the three biggest names in the sport: 13-time AMA National champion Ricky Carmichael, 2004 AMA Supercross champion Chad Reed, and James Stewart, the sport’s rising star who is looking for his first AMA Supercross title. All three riders enter the Las Vegas race with a legitimate shot at the title.

The last time a supercross title chase played out to the final round was at the Los Angeles Coliseum in 1992, when Jeff Stanton came from behind to overtake Damon Bradshaw to win the championship.

The SPEED broadcast team will include Ralph Sheheen, 1990 Supercross Lites East Champion Denny Stephenson, Krista Voda and Greg White.

Supercross LIVE!, the only place on the web to catch Amp’d Mobile Supercross live at home, in your car, or just about anywhere in the world, is available live for fans at every race, starting at 7:00 p.m. local time at supercross.cc.com. Listen as Supercross LIVE! hosts Jim Holley and Jason Wiegandt capture the live race call, a pre-race show, a post-race show, post-race press conference, on-air industry guests and celebrities, in-depth interviews, promotions, call-ins and more. In 2004-2005, more than a three-quarters-of-million listeners logged on to Supercross LIVE! Archived broadcasts are also available at supercross.cc.com, or can be downloaded to iPod or MP3 players via Podcast at sxlivepodcast.com.
