Seattle Practice Report (updated with photos)

The AMA decided to cancel practice here in Seattle after one session. After only a few laps, where he set the fastest lap time of the day, James Stewart crashed over the finish-line double and bent up his KX450F. Ricky Carmichael had the second-fastest lap time followed by the Yamaha of Chad Reed.

In the 250F class, the two championship contenders set the top two times in practice. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Grant Langston was just a bit faster than the Honda of Andrew Short, setting the stage for an awesome finale for the Western Region championship.

In other news, Team MDKmotorsports.com's Nick Wey clinched the U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Top Privateer Award as he has a 74-point lead over Team Solitaire's Ryan Clark

And word from the Honda camp is that Team Honda's Davi Millsaps, who is absent from Seattle after tweaking his knee in Dallas last weekend, will be racing a 250F in the Dave Coombs, Sr. East/West Shootout next weekend, defending his recently earned Eastern Regional championship. And he is confirmed to be racing a CRF450 in the 2006 Toyota AMA Motocross Nationals.
