  • Monster Energy’s Gosselaar Makes Fourth-Straight Lites Podium

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Chris Gosselaar races to 3rd place finish at Detroit and has solid hold on overall Lites class podium

CARLSBAD, Calif., (March 27, 2006) – Though it was somewhat of a gift from racer Bobby Kiniry, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Chris Gosselaar rode a solid race and was happy to take the final podium spot when Kiniry crashed in the whoop section leading up to the final turn before the checkers at Detroit’s Ford Field on Saturday. The 3rd place finish was the hard-charging Gosselaar’s fourth consecutive podium finish and fifth out of six Eastern Regional Lites class races on the 2006 Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series tour.

Finishing ahead of Gosselaar was rival Josh Grant. Gosselaar and
Grant had been tied at 94 points for second place overall in the
Eastern Lites class heading into last Saturday’s contest. Grant now
holds a five point lead, 119-114, over Gosselaar with one race
remaining (Houston) for second overall in the points chase. Davi
Millsaps leads the overall Eastern Lites points chase with 141 points.

“I didn’t get the greatest start and had to come from behind,”
said Gosselaar. “I saw Kiniry was making some mistakes, so I stayed on him. All I kept saying to myself was ‘I can’t let Honda sweep the podium.’”

Gosselaar and the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team return to action this weekend, April 1st, at Houston’s Reliant Stadium for the
final round of the Eastern Region Lites class racing.

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team sponsors include: Parts
