Suzuki’s Ricky Carmichael and Yamaha’s Chad Reed to Participate

AURORA, Ill. (February 24, 2006) – The Motocross Guild of Children’s Hospital and Amp’d Mobile Supercross announced today that a fundraising drive will culminate at Seattle’s Qwest Field, Saturday, April 29, where a goal of $50,000 will be raised for Children’s Hospital & Regional Medical Center. Reigning World Supercross GP/AMA Supercross Series champion Ricky Carmichael will draw the winning ticket for the grand prize Suzuki RMZ-250 motorcycle during the night racing at the Seattle stop of Amp’d Mobile Supercross.

To preview the weekend’s race and to kick off Amp Mobile Supercross’ arrival in the city of Seattle, Carmichael and Yamaha’s Chad Reed will visit the Children’s Hospital & Regional Medical Center. In addition to spending quality time with the kids at the hospital, Carmichael and Reed will be the featured at a press conference held at the hospital.

Additional support will come from event sponsor Renton Motorcycles where the top supercross racers, including Carmichael, Reed and more, will sign autographs at their dealership.

“I love doing things to support kids” said Chad Reed.  “Autographing a jersey is an easy way for us to help kids in need of medical care.” Throughout the night a silent auction to support uncompensated care at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center will also take place.

The Inside Line Pledge Drive rewards the top 25 individual fundraisers with a chance to meet Carmichael or Reed, tour factory rigs, walk the track and enjoy premium seating. Considered the quintessential all-access pass, the 25 individual fundraisers will be given the ultimate supercross experience. The Inside Line pledge drive ends on April 21, 2006.

"I'm always happy to help out with fundraising, particularly when it comes to kids," said Carmichael.  "Children's Hospital is a great cause and I'm honored to be a part of any effort that will make a difference in providing quality medical care for kids."

Pledge forms can be picked up and raffle tickets may be purchased at participating Suzuki and Yamaha dealers or online at the official website http://www.mxforchildren.org.
