Broc Hepler Injury Report
Racer X has confirmed that Broc Hepler broke a bone on the
top of his foot last week while practicing in California for the East
Region opener of the 2006 Amp'd Mobile AMA Supercross Series. Hepler,
the lone SX Lites rider on the Makita Suzuki team, broke a small bone
on the top of his foot back by his ankle. Rumors were circulating that
he crashed while going over a triple step-up; he hit a rut, was pitched
off the bike, and his RM-Z250 landed on his foot. Hepler says he should
still be ready for first race next week. Alpinestars has built a
special boot for him to use for as long as he needs it, and he will
race at the series opener next Saturday night in St. Louis.
Hepler
is the latest in a long list of East Region riders who have been hurt
while getting ready for the series, including Monster Energy/Pro
Circuit Kawasaki's Troy Adams (femur), SoBe/Samsung Honda's Joaquim
Rodriques (leg), and Red Bull KTM's Jeff Alessi (both feet). Oh, and we
left off Ben Townley (knee)!
