Tedesco Places Fifth and Short Takes First
Supercross Round 1 Results
Round 1 of the 16 stop Supercross series took place Saturday, January
7, 2006 in Anaheim, California. It was a strong start to the season for
newly signed DVS riders Ivan Tedesco and Andrew Short.
It was Tedesco’s first-ever Supercross Class competition (formerly
known as the 250cc) and he placed an impressive fifth behind James
(Bubba) Stewart (1st), Chad Reed (2nd), Ricky Carmichael (3rd) and Mike
LaRocco (4th). Windham would have been right there as well, but is
unfortunately sitting out due to an injury to his arm he received while
testing last month. It’s not known yet when he will be able return. DVS
wishes him well. Tyler Evans was back on the track last month in Canada
after recovering from a knee injury. He unfortunately suffered a bit of
bad luck in Round 1 and didn’t make the main. He’ll be back. In the
Lites division (formerly known as 125cc) Andrew Short had an awesome
first-place finish. Congratulations Andrew!
Round 2 is scheduled to take place in Phoenix, Arizona on January 14,
2006. For the complete schedule or more on Supercross visit
