AURORA, Ill. (December 7, 2005) – Clear Channel Entertainment‘s Motor Sports division announced today that the third annual MMI/Jeremy McGrath Scholarship contest will run in conjunction with the Amp’d Mobile World Supercross GP/Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series. Jeremy McGrath is the all-time winningest supercross racer in history with seven 250cc championships and 72 main event wins.

New for 2005-‘6, the MMI (Motorcycle Mechanics Institute) will have Jeremy McGrath personally interview the top three finalists and pick the winner. The scholarship includes full tuition for one student to attend the 57-week motorcycle training program at either the Phoenix or Orlando campus of MMI.

“This has been an extremely successful scholarship program,” said Terry Emig, director of event marketing, MMI. “We have seen some very creative entries and videos over the last two years. The first two recipients have represented themselves, MMI and Jeremy McGrath very well.”

"Clear Channel is once again proud to team up with Motorcycle Mechanics Institute and Jeremy McGrath to help a young person live out a dream,” said Ryan McSpadden, senior director of sales, Clear Channel Entertainment – Motor Sports.  “We hope to continue offering this program for a long, long, time."

Contestants are required to download the official application from www.mmitech.edu and submit the completed application along with a two minute video depicting why he or she deserves to win the scholarship. Applications and videos need to be postmarked by April 7, 2006.

The inaugural MMI Jeremy McGrath Scholarship winner, Eric Salava, who graduated with perfect attendance and a 3.9 Grade Point Average from MMI, signed a contract with Team Subway Coca-Cola Honda for the 2005-2006 Amp’d Mobile World Supercross GP/Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series. Last year’s winner, Todd Hunn, is currently attending the MMI Orlando campus.

Prospective mechanics looking to attend MMI can call 1-800-528-7995 and request the scholarship rules and entry form as well as information about MMI’s programs. Each year the MMI Jeremy McGrath Scholarship winner is announced at the Amp’d Mobile World Supercross GP/Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series finals in Las Vegas.
