Mike Goodwin Denied Bail
At today's hearing, the judge, once again, denied bail for Goodwin because he is charged with a capital crime.
The next hearing for Mike is January 10th, 2006. This is the
culmination, hopefully, of a motion filed by the defense on March 17th,
2005. In light of the extensive evidence of previous government
and law enforcement misconduct in this case, we do expect the court to
rule more favorably for the defense at the January hearing. On or
within a short time of this date, Detective Mark Lillienfeld, lead
investigator, will be asked to testify and explain the massive
misconduct allegations made against him by the defense.
No trial date has been set but, depending on the January 10th outcome, it is anticipated that a date may be set in March.
Mike would like to take this opportunity to express his heartfelt
thanks to the large number of you who wrote letters to the judge for
this hearing. Mike was visibly moved by the number and content of
the letters. Thank you all so much.
