WBR/Suzuki starts Supercross testing at Top Secret track
The WBR/Suzuki team started serious Supercross testing this
week at their top secret test track in Murietta, California. In
attendance was David Bailey, the entire Yoshimura engine development
crew headed up by legendary tuner Satoshi Momma, and numerous other
team associates.
The three-man WBR squad was impressed by the fast times being kicked
down by Ryan Sipes. Sipes style has matured a lot over the course of
the off-season and he will be entering the 2006 season as a title
contener.
"I have him using a lot more body English now," racing icon and WBR
team advisor David Bailey said. "He is riding really aggressively and
has good flow around the track. He knows he is one of the fast guys now
and has a winning mindset."
Ryan Morias was also looking like a winner at the demanding test track.
"I'm really looking forward to Anaheim-1. Last season was O.K. but I
really want to prove to people what I can do... I can't wait."
Team newcomer Michael LaPaglia looked every bit the "wunderkid" moniker
earned from his amateur career. Although only 16, he has a quiet
maturity that demonstrates a modest outlook that is rarely seen in a
novice pro. "I have set realistic goals for myself and I expect to
achieve them. I'm sure that I will learn a lot of new things, and that
the competition will be tough, I am confident that I will have some
good finishes though, and above all have a lot of fun!"
