  • Gage Schehr Injury Update 2019 Seattle Supercross
Seattle, WA SeattleMonster Energy AMA Supercross Championship

Privateer Gage Schehr is currently in the ICU at a local hospital in the Seattle area after suffering numerous injuries in the 250SX LCQ on Saturday night at round 12 of Monster Energy AMA Supercross.

Schehr crashed in the LCQ and was landed on by another rider. He received attention from the Alpinestars Mobile Medical Unit and was able to walk to the medical mule before being carted off.

According to a report from Swapmotolive.com, Schehr “suffered lacerated liver and kidney, collapsed lungs, a damaged artery, five fractures in his spine, eight broken ribs, and broken arm” in the crash.

Gage’s mom, Cari, posted an update on Instagram last night saying that Gage had a procedure to help with the bleeding in his liver and kidney.

“We are overwhelmed by the love, support and concern flooding our phones for our boy @geezyyy__ . Gage had a procedure last night that was supposed to help with the bleeding in his liver and kidney,” she wrote. “Unfortunately his levels are still dropping. He is being evaluated this morning and deciding when they will be needing to take him in to do a more extensive surgery. We are blessed to have a solid team of doctors that are caring for him.”

Our thoughts are with the entire Schehr family during this difficult time. We will continue to update this post as we know more.

[Update: Wednesday, March 27]

Gage's mom, Cari, posted the following on Instagram today and everything appears to be improving for Gage:

First off, our family can’t thank everyone enough for the continued support we have been receiving. Gage has had an amazing day in retrospect to the prior days. Levels are stabilizing , lungs are slowly clearing up with the draining tube, surgery tomorrow on his arm and he’s on the mend. We will focus now on healingLove you all!
