The 250SX West Region is back in action this weekend, and for the first time since February 2 in San Diego, it will be a West Region-only round. We did see the West riders in Atlanta on March 2 for the East-West Showdown, which was won by Adam Cianciarulo.

With such a long layoff between rounds, we’ve put together a little refresher for you this weekend.

Top Five

Adam Cianciarulo

Wins: 4
Podiums: 4
Worst Finish: 5th | Anaheim 1 and 2

What he needs to do to win the championship
Avoid major mistakes. Cianciarulo is rolling right now with four wins in the last five rounds and just needs to be steady over the next four rounds to capture his first career 250SX title.

Dylan Ferrandis

Wins: 0
Podiums: 4
Worst Finish: 7th | San Diego

What he needs to do to win the championship
Ferrandis has been super consistent with four runner-up finishes and is prime to grab his first career win here soon. He's 15 points back heading into Seattle and could really use a win to pull closer to AC.

Shane McElrath

Wins: 1
Podiums: 3
Worst Finish: 6th | Atlanta

What he needs to do to win the championship
Win. Assuming Cianciarulo doesn’t make any major mistakes, McElrath must go on a run if he hopes to track down the points leader. He's 17 points back entering the weekend and is probably in a must-win situation in Seattle if he wants to keep his title hopes alive.

McElrath, who raced his 250 SX-F in the 450 class in Daytona, will return to the 250SX West Region this weekend in Seattle.
McElrath, who raced his 250 SX-F in the 450 class in Daytona, will return to the 250SX West Region this weekend in Seattle. Rich Shepherd

Colt Nichols

Wins: 1
Podiums: 4
Worst Finish: 10th | San Diego

What he needs to do to win the championship
The former points leader's title chances took a major hit in San Diego and Atlanta with 10-7 finishes. He's 20 back entering the weekend, and like McElrath, is probably in a must-win situation.

RJ Hampshire

Wins: 0
Podiums: 0
Worst Finish: 15th | San Diego

What he needs to do to win the championship
Win a lot and get a lot of help. Hampshire's title chances are slim after three straight finishes outside the top 10.
