  • Daytona Supercross: A Grueling Course
Daytona, FL DaytonaMonster Energy AMA Supercross Championship

Daytona Supercross—the most grueling course on the circuit. Daytona’s unique layout and three types of dirt test the skill and physical endurance of every rider. This year’s course returns to a counter-clockwise direction and features two whoops sections, moguls, and a dragon’s back.

Take a virtual tour of the 2019 course by clicking here to watch the video.

For the 12th straight year, supercross legend and five-time Daytona Supercross champion Ricky Carmichael returns as the course designer. Here’s a look at some of the numbers behind the construction of this year’s Daytona Supercross course:

300 – Truckloads of dirt

6,600 – Tons of dirt

12 – Trucks used to transport the dirt into the Speedway

2 – Days to bring all of the dirt into the track

40 – Obstacles on the Daytona Supercross course

621 – Tuff Blox

3,100 – Length in feet of the Daytona Supercross course

900– Man-hours (approximate) to set up the Daytona Supercross course

In addition, three crawlers, two front loaders, two bobcats, one sheep’s foot, two skid steers, one roller, and one grader are used to move the dirt during construction.

Get closer to the action than anywhere else on the circuit at Daytona Supercross on Saturday, March 9. Adult tickets are available starting at $45 and youth tickets are $15; kids five and under are free in general admission seating. Trackside Access can also be added, allowing fans to view the event while standing on the frontstretch of the Speedway’s famed trioval.
