Brayton, Decotis, Faith Confirmed for Australian Supercross Championship

Honda Genuine Racing confirmed today that American Justin Brayton has signed with the team for the entire 2016 Australian Supercross Championship. The new-look team launched by Yarrive Konsky is expected name another U.S.-based rider on Friday to pair with Brayton in SX1.
“My time with Honda was amazing and it feels great to return,” Brayton, who hasn’t raced a Honda since 2012, said. “I have been testing with Honda in the US and, together with the HGA Honda Racing Team in Australia, they have been able to create this unbelievable opportunity.”
Brayton, who hasn’t announced a deal for the 2017 season yet, last raced in Australia in 2010, contesting the opening three rounds of the series.
The team, which has support from Honda Genuine Oils, Parts and Accessories division of Honda Australia, has also signed defending SX2 champion Jimmy Decotis to the team.
The team will run alongside the separate Penrite Honda team, which will feature two-time Australian SX2 champion and defending Amsoil Arenacross champion Gavin Faith. Faith will race the SX2 class for the team.
“I don’t race a 450cc at home and I am racing 250cc again next year,” Faith said. “It doesn’t make sense for me to race something I don’t ride or race back home. Coming to Australia is the best preparation for the American championship and I need to make smart decisions.”
The 2016 Australian Supercross Championship beings on Saturday, September 17, in Queensland.
