  • SPY Signs Malcolm Stewart, Cole Seely, and Justin Hill

CARLSBAD, Calif.—SPY® is happy to announce Malcolm Stewart, Cole Seely, and Justin Hill will tear through the track as the newest members of the SPY MX family.

Honing his natural gift at a young age, Malcolm Stewart quickly made a name for himself, earning the AMA MX “Rookie of the Year” title in 2011. Stewart most recently showed his competitive prowess at the inaugural Red Bull Straight Rhythm event, blazing past his accomplished peers on the way to the podium. Following his top ten finish in 250 SX West, Malcolm will step up to the 450 premier class for 2015.

"I’m stoked to join the SPY family,” says Malcolm Stewart. “The glasses and the goggles are awesome, but the Happy Lens is the best part. It’s so unlike anything I’ve ever used, and it makes ruts really visible on the track.”

Ripping through life on two wheels at an early age, Cole Seely grew up riding and racing BMX before taking on a full-time MX career in 2009. Known for his calculated riding style and dexterity in the dirt, Seely collected two 250 SX West wins in 2014 and will take on the AMA 450 Supercross and the AMA Pro Motocross Championships for Team Honda in 2015.

“I’ve always loved what SPY has been about,” says Cole Seely. “When I was young, my favorite riders wore SPY, and I’m happy to be wearing their goggles going into my first 450 season.”

Surrounded by motorcycles since day one, Justin Hill took up racing with his family by his side, training with his older brother Josh at their ranch in Yoncalla, OR. Fueled by sibling rivalry and an incomparable fitness regime, Hill got busy in 2014—ripping apart nearly every race he entered and snagging the 250 class win at San Diego Supercross, in addition to a victory at the prestigious Monster Energy Supercross Las Vegas East/West Shootout and a podium finish at the Red Bull Straight Rhythm. Hill happily returns to the SPY team after igniting his partnership with Red Bull KTM, and will fly the SPY flag during the 250 SX West Supercross Series and the Lucas Oil Pro 250 Motocross Championship for the 2015 season.

“I feel privileged to be back in the SPY family,” says Justin Hill. “It’s been two years since I’ve been able to ride the goggles, and I’m super excited to rep SPY again!”

Wearing the innovative Happy Lens—the only MX Lens with Benefits—and working with SPY’s research and development team to explore new goggle technologies and design, Stewart, Seely, and Hill join 7x AMA Supercross Champion Jeremy McGrath on SPY’s MX team roster.

“We couldn’t be happier to welcome this crew of young, hungry riders to our family,” says Kyle Krause, SPY MX marketing manager. “Each guy brings something unique to our team and will be influential in helping SPY improve our already strong MX and goggle program. Most importantly, they all know how to have fun.”
