Racer X's Steve Matthes is reporting that, as rumored previously, Rockstar Energy Racing's Davi Millsaps will have to get surgery to repair his injured knee, and the surgery will put him out of this summer's Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. Millsaps is scheduled to have the surgery next week.
In his place, 250 rider Ryan Sipes will get the bump up to the 450 class outdoors. Sipes can ride a big bike well so he can make an impact. Millsaps is still racing this weekend in Vegas, but he has hinted all along that he would grind out supercross and then take a real honest look at his knee when the indoor season concludes. Surgery has turned out to be the best option. Get well soon, Davi!
