SPY Optic Releases McGrath Collection

CARLSBAD, Calif.– SPY Optic™ today announced the release of its three-piece Jeremy McGrath Signature Series: the SPY® + Jeremy McGrath Klutch™ goggle, the Showtime™ signature model sunglasses and the SPY® Tron™ sunglasses in MC signature colorway. The trifecta features artwork inspired by the 7-time AMA Supercross Champion’s emblematic Showtime racing helmet.

“I came up with my first helmet design in 1993,” says McGrath. “The bubble design and bones logo were ways to be different, set myself apart and find my own line. The bubbles became synonymous with me and I ran it strong through the next four years. This helmet did a lot of winning, as well as influencing later designs.”

The SPY® + Jeremy McGrath Klutch™ features Showtime’s iconic bubbles graphic across the frame and inside of the strap alongside a retro pattern and bone-lettered “Showtime” monogram. The goggle features cutting-edge, sweat-transforming Geo-Force™ face foam technology; maximized venting; anti-fog, scratch-resistant Lexan® lens with posts; silicone ribbed strap; free nose guard; and it comes with a limited-edition McGrath signature bag and a free clear bonus lens.

“I’m all about the new Geo-Force™ foam SPY® is using in my Klutch™ model,” says McGrath. “This face foam should be in every goggle out there. It fits unbelievably, absorbs and wicks away every drop of moisture. I’ve never worn a goggle that absorbs so much sweat.”

The Showtime™ signature model sunglasses embody McGrath’s on-track grit with street-style swagger.  Its forged Monel alloy metal frame is a beefed-up take on classic aviator styling, with engineered temples handcrafted from Grilamid® emblazoned with MC's bubble graphics on the inside.  Custom metal details, 8x4 polycarbonate lenses and 100% UV protection round-out the mix on this super-stylish fashion piece.

The Tron™ is injected with resilient Epsylon™ and comes with a 6-base ARC® mono lens, handset custom metal frame details, 8mm metal hinge and 100% UV protection.

MSRP for the SPY® + Jeremy McGrath Showtime Klutch™ is $70, including a smoke with silver mirror lens and a free clear bonus lens. Klutch™ replacement lenses come in a variety of tints, including photochromic, smoke, smoke with silver mirror, persimmon, light blue, smoke with light blue Spectra™, clear with silver mirror, yellow, smoke with red Spectra™ and smoke with green Spectra™. Accessory options include tear-offs, CVS™ roll-off system and SAS™ sweat pads.

MSRP for the Jeremy McGrath Showtime™ signature model sunglasses is $110 to $150, available in matte black with inside MC ’93 helmet print and a grey lens, gold with classic tortoise and a bronze lens, antique silver with black and a grey polarized lens, or silver with black and a grey green lens. MSRP for the Tron™ sunglasses in the signature MC ’93 helmet colorway is $135, offered in a grey with blue Spectra™ lens.
