Metrakit MK65 Debut at the Mini O’s Wins the 65cc 7-9 Mod SX Championship
Brock Papi of McMurray, Pennsylvania and factory test pilot for Metrakit USA dominated the 65cc 7-9 mod class on the MK65 at this year’s Gatorback Mini Os amateur national. Brock and his MK65 pulled the holeshot in the main event and never looked back finishing 1 and 1 to take the 65cc 7-9 Mod Championship. It looks like Bud Maimone is making history again with his newest endeavor, Metrakit. The Metrakit machines look to be a winning force in 2011 and beyond. You can contact Metrakit USA to place your order on the new 50 and 65 machines. Both machines are AMA legal to race in the stock class.
Metrakit is the newest mini-bike manufacturer to hit the United States. The company was founded in 1976 in Barcelona, Spain. Known for their GP 50cc, 85cc and 125cc Bikes in Europe, Metrakit has used this development to design high performing, super fast motocross 50’s and 65’s minis. Bud Maimone, founder of Cobra Motorcycles is now the head of Metrakit USA in North Lima, Ohio. Bud will be responsible for development and distributing the minis throughout North and South America. Although the newest Bud Bikes have performed very well in France and the United States on a local and regional level, it was time to test the 65’s at the Mini O’s amateur national in Gainesville, Florida. This race is very comparable to Loretta Lynn’s as you will find only the best riders from all over the country competing. Metrakit utilized only a stock bike at the event which is a very hard task when you’re competing against a sea of modified orange rockets.
