Scott Bell Update
March 3, 2010 12:55pm
Scott Bell, longtime Southern California motocross rider, was involved in a single car accident early Sunday morning while leaving Jeremy McGrath's private ranch track. Scott's brother is 1980 AMA Supercross Champion Mike Bell, whom we contacted this afternoon for an update.
"Scotty went off the road early Sunday morning and hit a tree and is in critical but stable condition, with a torn aorta (which obviously they fixed), fractured vertebrae, multiple broken ribs, with collapsed one lung while the other one was punctured. He is in ICU on a respirator. They tried to remove the respirator yesterday but he couldn't breath that well on his own so they had to put him back on it. Once he's off the respirator and breathing on his own I think we'll all feel a lot better. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers."
According to Mike Bell, his brother's children started a Facebook page for him so if you want you can friend him: "Scott Bell." They update his progress every day.
