Daniel Blair Out for Season
February 2, 2010 11:51am
San Marcos, CA- Monster Energy Supercross Lites rider #125, Daniel Blair, announced this past weekend he will sit out the remainder of the 2010 Supercross Season.
“I am pretty bummed to announce that the 2010 SX season is done for me. Last weekend I re-injured myself pretty bad and although I was hoping that I would be able to ride through the injury and salvage the season, I don’t think it is going to be possible. After talking it over with my family as well as my agent, we have decided the best move is to have surgery and take care of the problem. This was a very hard decision for me to make. I have put so much work into the last 3 years and I know that this year I was ready to take that step and contend for the podium, staring in Indianapolis.
I am not sure how long I will be out exactly. My number 1 priority is to make sure that I am 100% before I come back and whether that takes 6 weeks or 6 months, I have to make sure I do what’s right for my body. I will continue to update this website and keep you all posted on my recovery.
I want to thank everyone for their support! I would like to thank all the great sponsors who have teamed up with me for the 2010 season and I can’t wait to get back out there. Thank you Bully Dog Technologies, O’Neal, TCCI, Americraft, AiRide Suspension, Jardine, C4MX, Gaerne, Renthal, Factory Backing, EVS, Scott Goggles, Dunlop, Works Connection, UFO, Motorex, No Toil, Vanquish, Faction MX, EVOMX, Ride Engineering, Slaton Racing, DVS, and Speed Factory. Most importantly, I would like to thank my family, my wife Maggie, and Todd Ballard at NXTagency.”
Blair hopes to be ready to race in SX at this Summer’s X Games before preparing for the 2011 SX season. Daniel and his brother Vincent, who also races SX, will also be working on some new music to be released this Spring.
