Husaberg's Lafferty and Fahringer Top-Five

Wedgefield, SC – Husaberg riders Mike Lafferty and Nick Fahringer put in two decent rides for the start of the 2010 AMA National Enduro Series finishing 4th and 5th overall respectively.
The South Carolina course consisted of sand, clay and lots of roots and vines. The day started with temperatures in the low 20s and warmed up to what Fahringer called “almost comfortable riding weather.”
The first special test win went to KTM rider Russell Bobbitt with Lafferty coming in close behind. “I rode a bit nervous the first few tests and that showed in my finish times,” commented the 8-time National Enduro Champion. Fahringer also admitted to struggling early on. “I actually came into this race with a lot of confidence since I raced the Hare Scramble here the week prior. Unfortunately, I got a little too excited and crashed a few times on the first few tests, losing time to the leaders.”
After the first gas, both riders calmed their nerves and went into the second half of the tests with a new outlook. Lafferty picked up the pace and improved his scores on the final tests finishing just seconds behind third place finisher, Bobbitt. “Overall I felt pretty good. I feel I rode too cautious in sections and that I could have pushed myself harder in the end. It is good to finish the first race in the top five and I am already looking forward to round two,” remarked Lafferty.
Fahringer finished right behind his teammate in 5th position. “This is the first time I have started the season inside the top five. I really feel that my pre-season training has made all the difference. I am excited to start the season on the right foot. Now, it’s back home for a week and then off to Georgia to start preparing for the next round,” commented Fahringer.
Next Round: Greensboro, GA – February 21, 2010
Overall Results –

2. Cory Buttrick
3. Russell Bobbitt
4. Mike Lafferty – Husaberg
5. Nick Fahringer – Husaberg
