Pole Position Raceway Announces 5th Location

  • Pole Position Raceway Announces 5th Location
The legendary chain of celebrity-owned indoor go kart tracks is expanding with a second location in Las Vegas. The new facility will be located in the Summerlin section of town off I-95. "Vegas is one of the most-popular entertainment destinations in the world and the town absolutely loves motorsports," said co-founder and CEO Jason Williams. "Vegas is home to two NASCAR races and an NHRA event held at the speedway every year, plus the AMA Supercross finale, the U.S. Open of Supercross, two Endurocross races, the MiniMoto SX and of course the World Mini GP. I believe that people who watch a lot of these races would actually like to participate if they had the opportunity, and that's what makes indoor karting so popular. In most cases it's the closest thing to real racing that most people will ever experience in their lifetime. It doesn't matter who you are, everyone loves the feeling of going fast."

"Last week we had Arnold Schwazenegger and his family at the track, and Pole Position Raceway has become very popular with a wide variety of celebrities," said co-founder and President Ken Faught. "Travis Pastrana and James Stewart have raced there, and so has Mel Gibson and most of the top NASCAR drivers including Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and Robby Gordon. Earlier this year we hosted the Miss America contestants, and filmed several television pieces including Ultimate Fighting with Chuck Liddell and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, plus a feature on teen baseball sensation Bryce Harper. And it wasn't long after he won the Superbowl that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger celebrated his birthday at the track. Even George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars, has raced at Pole Position Raceway in Las Vegas, so it just goes to show the wide range of people that love the sport of indoor karting.

The new track is expected to open in November. Those involved with Pole Position Raceway include AMA Supercross Champs Jeremy McGrath and Chad Reed, NASCAR Champ Kurt Busch, AMA Motocross Champs Grant Langston and Greg Alberty, off-road stars Dick Burleson, Randy Hawkins, Barry Hawk and Kerry Peterson along with freestylers Mike Metzger and Kenny Bartram. Pole Position Raceway is sponsored by Monster Energy, Kal-Gard and Racer X. For more information check out www.PolePositionRaceway.com.
