  • Road 2 Recovery Announces the Triple Five Tour Ride to Recovery

Scottsdale, AZ - The Road 2 Recovery Foundation is proud to announce the first annual “Triple Five Tour Ride to Recovery” road bike tour during the week of September 10-15, 2007 to benefit injured MX/SX riders of the past and present. The ride will begin at the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco California and will end some 555 miles away in Carlsbad California. The ride will follow nearly the same path as the “Tour of California” bicycle race that is held yearly. The ride is the brainchild of THOR MX’s very own Victor Sheldon. “I have wanted to do this ride for a long time, and I finally made up my mind to just do it.” said Sheldon. Since committing himself to this Sheldon has enlisted the help of friends in and out of the MX industry including Michael Sleeter, Todd Jacobs, and D.L. Wood. 555 miles in five days is similar to the Tour De France and the riders will be riding nearly 110 miles each day. “I am excited to see people being so unselfish and working so hard to try and help out our injured riders,” said Jimmy Button, co-founder of R2R. R2R is accepting donations for the ride that will be turned around and distributed directly to our fallen riders. You can log on to www.road2recovery.com and pledge any amount you wish for the ride.

The Road 2 Recovery Foundation would like to thank the following sponsors for making this event possible: Chuck Franklin, Davey Coombs from Racer X, Iron from Cytomax, Todd Hayes from Oakley, THOR MX, Dan from Squardra, and Randy Richardson from Michelin Tires.

The Road 2 Recovery Foundation is dedicated to helping AMA licensed motocross members with financial assistance if they sustain career-ending injuries as well as providing motivational, emotional and spiritual support to these individuals and their families.  For more information and sponsorship opportunities contact Road 2 Recovery at 480 276-1131 or info@road2recovery.com.
