THOR Riders Consistent at High Point
Villopoto at the top of the standings and Townley’s impressive comeback!
The AMA Toyota Motocross Championship series rolled into Mt. Morris, PA this past weekend for round 2 at High Point Raceway.
MOTO 1: Ben Townley got off to a rough start in moto one. An early crash right out of the gate saw Townley in dead last and to make matters worse, he had to make a pit stop to swap front wheels after he lost several spokes to another riders foot peg. After being down by such a large margin Townley had his work cut out for him. Townley came from last place at the end of lap one to an amazing 10th place finish to finish the first moto.
Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto did not have one of his best starts in moto one either. After getting out to a mediocre top ten start, Ryan had to work his way back up the pack and eventually finished 2nd behind Josh Grant who led the entire race from start to finish.

After the passing clinic he demonstrated in moto 1, he made quick work of Dungey and Grant to take over the top spot by the second lap. Townley check out and went on to take the win in moto 2 white his teammate, Ryan Villopoto, battled for the overall.
Ryan Villopoto had a great battle with Josh Grant, eventually getting by Grant on lap seven to take the second place finish. Ryan finished with a 2-2, but due to the fact that Grant finished with a win in moto one, that put him ahead of Ryan in the tie-breaker.
