Can-Am New Title Sponsor for GNCC Series

  • Can-Am New Title Sponsor for GNCC Series

Morgantown, WV February 7, 2007 – Racer Productions, the producers of the Grand National Cross Country Series, and BRP Can-Am have signed a three-year agreement for title sponsorship of GNCC Racing. The Can-Am title sponsorship provides an unprecedented level of support for America’s largest off-road racing series. Through 2009, the series will be named the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series.

“This is a huge step up for GNCC racing,” says GNCC Trail Boss Jeff Russell. “BRP will provide more support than any GNCC sponsor ever has, and that means we have more resources to pour into our facilities, our promotion, and our TV production. Plus, our track crew will get to use the amazing Can-Am ATVs, so we’ll have some fun, too!”

The 2007 Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series begins a three-year sponsorship agreement. This allows both BRP and Racer Productions to focus on long-term goals to benefit the series. For example, the resources provided by BRP will help support the Racer TV package on the Versus Network (formerly OLN), which includes weekly coverage of GNCC racing starting this spring.

“We are very excited to be a part of the GNCC family,” said Yves Leduc, Vice-President and General Manager, Snowmobiles, Watercraft, Sport boats and ATVs, BRP. “As we've competed in this great series over the last two seasons, we have encountered time and again the energy and passion that define the Can Am customer, the real enthusiast that lives to ride. We feel this relationship will allow us to further show the ATV public that Can-Am is also synonymous with racing success.”

Look for Can-Am banners, signage and ATVs at all the GNCC races this season, including demo rides and product displays on vendor row at select events. There will also be significant coverage on the GNCCRacing.com website and the Racer TV show on Versus.

BRP Can-Am joins the long-standing relationship between GNCC Racing and other series Featured Sponsors: Parts Unlimited, Moose, Maxxis, Pirelli, Wiseco, Acerbis, Elka, Geico, Klotz, FMF, ITP and Weekend Warrior.

The 2007 Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series begins with the Parts Unlimited Triton GNCC in Vero Beach, Florida, on March 3-6.

About GNCC Racing:

The AMA/ATVA-sanctioned Can-Am Grand National Cross Country series is America’s premier off-road racing series. The 13-round series is produced exclusively by Racer Productions. Cross-country racing is one of the most physically demanding sports in the world. The nearly three-hour long GNCC races lead as many as 1,800 riders through tracks ranging from eight to twelve miles (should also mention the kilometers for English Canada)in length. GNCC Racing airs weekly television shows on Versus (formerly Outdoor Life Network) every Saturday at 3 p.m. and Thursday at 4 p.m. beginning on April 14. With varied terrain including hills, woods, mud, dirt, rocks and motocross sections, GNCC events are tests of both survival and speed. GNCC featured sponsors include BRP Can-Am, Parts Unlimited, Moose, Maxxis, Pirelli, Wiseco, Acerbis, Elka, Geico, Klotz, FMF, ITP and Weekend Warrior, and riders compete for over $3 million in series prizes and contingency money. Associate sponsors include Alpinestars, Cometic, EK Chain, HiPer Technology, Laegers, Motion Pro, Moose Utility Division, Powersport Grafx, Pro Clean, Race Tools, REM, Scott, Thor, Tire Balls, Twin Air, Weekend Warrior, and MotoTee’s.
