  • Amp’d Mobile Supercross Debuts on XM Satellite Radio's New XM Sports Nation

AURORA, Ill. (November 28, 2006) – Live Nation Motor Sports announced today that the 2006-‘07 Amp’d Mobile World Supercross GP/Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series will extend its relationship with XM Satellite Radio and will broadcast each of the 17 races on the new sports talk radio channel XM Sports Nation (XM Channel 143).  Also new this season, XM Sports Nation (XM Channel 143), will broadcast news from each race on their Thursday Sports Nation This Morning, hosted by TJ Rives, featuring riders and key industry personnel.

Amp’d Mobile Supercross and XM Radio enter into the fifth year of their relationship. This year XM Sports Nation (XM Channel 143) has dedicated an extra hour of coverage to each race, broadcasting live each Saturday during the season from 8:00-11:00 p.m. PST.

The format of the XM Radio show dedicates the complete three-hour program of the widely popular Supercross LIVE! webcast – on www.supercrossonline.com – every Saturday night during the season. Supercross LIVE! announcers Jim Holley and Jason Weigandt will call the race live from the press box, bringing all the racing action into hundreds of thousands of home and to millions of listeners nationwide.

Last year’s dramatic championship went down to the final race of the season in Las Vegas between Suzuki’s Ricky Carmichael, Yamaha’s Chad Reed and Kawasaki’s James Stewart. XM listeners were able to follow this exciting race for the championship week after week. XM Radio joins a solid list of media platforms where supercross enthusiasts can follow the season, including CBS Sports, SPEED and  Supercross LIVE!

“Having a presence in the growing world of satellite radio is important to our sport and its fans,” said Michael Prince, vice president of tactical marketing, Live Nation Motor Sports. “We are excited to extend our relationship with XM Sports Nation 143 ,and look forward to delivering a solid show to their listeners.”

”Amp’d Mobile Supercross fans tune into XM Radio to keep up with their favorite sport when they’re on the road, in the stands, or at home,” said Kevin Straley, vice president of talk programming, XM Satellite Radio.  “We’re pleased to be expanding our coverage this year with Amp’d Mobile World Supercross GP/Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series.”
