It was a tough weekend in Teutschenthal at the MXGP of Germany for a number of Grand Prix contenders.
Honda HRC’s Evgeny Bobryshev sustained a broken right collarbone in a crash during timed practice. He’s already undergone surgery to have a plate inserted. According to the team, they are still awaiting “further news as to his return.”
Monster Energy Factory Yamaha’s Romain Febvre sustained a ankle injury in the second moto when he caught his foot in a rut. His status for his home Grand Prix this weekend at Ernee has yet to be determined.
“In the second race I was riding pretty good but I caught my foot on a rut and hurt some ligaments in my ankle,” he said in a team statement. “I was in so much pain I thought my foot was broken, but I kept riding. Other than that, I feel much better on the bike and I am really happy with how things are going, I just hope my foot will be okay for next weekend."
Fellow Frenchman Jordi Tixier did not lineup for the second moto after feeling pain in his wrist and “having taken a bang to the head,” his Monster Energy Kawasaki team said in a press release. Per the team, he returned to “France for a thorough medical examination before his home GP next weekend.”
