Belgium has announced their team for the 2016 Motocross of Nations and once again the Red Knights will feature a team that could challenge for the overall win in Maggiora, Italy, on September 24-25.
Kevin Strijbos will captain the team in MXGP with Clement Desalle (Open) being named as the other 450 rider. Jeremy Van Horebeek will drop down to ride the 250 in the MX2 Class.
The announcement was made today at the Belgian Motocross Championship by team manager Joel Smets.
Without the services of Desalle and Strijbos last year in France, Belgium finished a distant third behind France and the United States with a team of Van Horebeek, Ken de Dycker and Julien Lieber.
Belgium last won the event in 2013 and has not finished off the podium since 2011.
