Racer X reached out to a member of the Yoshimura Suzuki team today and they confirmed that James Stewart would return this weekend in Santa Clara. Stewart had missed the previous two rounds due to a back injury sustained during a crash in Daytona.
Stewart has completed just one main event this season—a fourteenth in Atlanta—as he’s dealt with post-concussion symptoms from a crash at the season opener.
Stewart has been back on the bike and recently posted a video on his Instagram account at his compound in Florida.
Good couple of days riding with @malcolmstewart. Although he did me dirty this morning (you know what you did) it's good to be back on the bike again from Daytona. As always thanks peeps for hanging in there. Still have a lot of fight left in me. @sevenmx_ @team_suzuki_racing @redbull @gopro @dcshoes @oakleymotorsports @bell_powersports
In other news, we spoke with a member of the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna team and they confirmed that Christophe Pourcel would miss his third straight race due to a fracture of his C3 vertebrae sustained in a practice crash prior to Toronto.
The team hopes he will be able to return next weekend.
