Racer X reached out to a member of the Yoshimura Suzuki team today and they confirmed that James Stewart would return this weekend in Santa Clara. Stewart had missed the previous two rounds due to a back injury sustained during a crash in Daytona.
Stewart has completed just one main event this season—a fourteenth in Atlanta—as he’s dealt with post-concussion symptoms from a crash at the season opener.
Stewart has been back on the bike and recently posted a video on his Instagram account at his compound in Florida.
In other news, we spoke with a member of the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna team and they confirmed that Christophe Pourcel would miss his third straight race due to a fracture of his C3 vertebrae sustained in a practice crash prior to Toronto.
The team hopes he will be able to return next weekend.
