Luckily, Racer X and the MotoDynasty Fantasy league aren’t in all sorts of hot water like those big-money daily fantasy sites. We’re still rolling and it’s time for you to get going, too. Seriously, win prizes as soon as this weekend!
Weekly prizes on the line. Join now!
Think it's too late to join in on the fun? Nope. We have new comps weekly. New prizes are available every week, and this week Maxima, Nordic Games and Pro Motocross will be awarding prizes (see below) to the top three in both the 450 and 250 classes.
How to Play
MotoDynasty is the simplest site out there: you simply predict the top twelve in each class and count your points when it’s all over. It’s all about accuracy—if you, for example, pick Jason Anderson to finish third and he finishes third, you score max points for him. If he finishes fourth, you’ll still score decent points. If he finishes tenth, you’re taking a beating. If he finishes outside the top twelve, you receive zero points. This is the ultimate bench-racing test—it’s on you to predict the results before they happen. Here’s what to do:
1.) Sign-Up: This will be the easiest decision you've made all week. Go to motodynasty.racerxonline.com to sign up.
2.) Play Options: There are two different ways to play Racer X MotoDynasty Fantasy Supercross.
A.) Dynasty play is where you test your skills against thousands of others to win weekly and series prizes.
B.) Create or join a private league with your buddies, co-workers, family, the dude at the local watering hole—whoever. You can talk smack on your way to the league title.
Pre Race Checklist
If you’ve been playing for any significant amount of time, none of the information below should be news to you. (If it is, you may want to reconsider your strategy going forward.) Seeing as there may be some new people to fantasy, let’s run through a pre-race checklist.
- Check the injury report: There’s nothing worse than losing points because you were in too big of a rush not to scroll through and see who is and is not racing.
- Check practice times: Again, not rocket science. The AMA posts times after every session, so check them.
- Check heat race lineups: Once qualifying is done, the AMA will post heat race lineups. If you’re looking for extra points, check this before wagering on a heat race winner.
- Check Twitter and Race Day Feed: Look, race day is pretty hectic and not every injury or bit of news will be posted as Breaking News on our site. Stay up with the latest info with our Race Day Feed or Twitter account.
Make It Easy on Yourself
Saturday’s are a busy day for most and you don’t always have a chance to go through the above checklist or even fill out your picks. That’s why we’ve made it easy this year with the “Regenerate” option. Regenerate is simple. Click the button and it will automatically fill in your picks from the previous week. While you probably won’t make up much ground this way, at least you’ll have some picks in.
The Meat
Let’s take a look at some picks you should be making.
450
Ryan Dungey | Top Two
Hasn’t finished worse than second all season. Until he does, a win or runner-up is the best bet.
Eli Tomac | Fifth
I know it sounds strange, but fifth is the optimal spot for Eli right now. He’s averaged a 4.7 finish this season and has only found the podium once. He’ll turn it around, but stash him here until he does.
Cole Seely | Top Four
Seely is averaging a 4.6 finish this year and has found the podium three times.
Jake Weimer | Tenth
Has gone 8-14-12-10 over the last four rounds and is averaging a 10.6 finish this year. Anywhere from 9-12 is a good pick.
250
This week will the toughest of the season to judge, especially since you’re reading this and practice hasn’t even started. Here are some “good” bets, but take them with a grain of salt.
Jeremy Martin | Podium
The addition of O’Mara to his off-season will pay dividends. Also, he’s one of the few riders that have a win to their name in the class.
Malcolm Stewart | Podium
He erases the big mistakes from his portfolio and has a big season.
Justin Hill | Top Five
Has had a quiet off-season, which may be a good thing. Also, he’s healthy.
Wildcards
Tyler Bowers
His health is definitely something to watch. Give it until at least practice before making your pick.
Arnaud Tonus
See above.
Weston Peick
Pulled off last weekend with a hand injury. Keep an eye on this moving forward.
Sleepers
450
Mike Alessi
Has been riding much better than his results indicate. Top-twelve isn’t a stretch.
Christophe Pourcel
Round seven, people. I think he improves each week moving forward.
250
Luke Renzland
Had a quiet, but pretty consistent rookie season. Should improve in his second year with Rock River.
Anthony Rodriguez
Isn’t garnering much attention, but finished outside the top ten in just two rounds last year and finished sixth in points.
