  • Honda Releases 300RR Trials Bike

TORRANCE, Calif., – Riding the momentum of Toni Bou’s continued dominance on the international trials scene, American Honda today announced the brand-new Cota 300RR, which joins the improved Cota 4RT260 in Honda’s expanded 2016 lineup of Montesa trials models. Produced entirely at the Honda-owned Montesa factory in the trials hotbed of Barcelona, Spain, the Cota 300RR is a limited-edition, state-of-the-art trials machine that is capable of success at the highest level.

“We’re excited to expand our trials lineup by bringing the brand-new Montesa Cota 300RR to American customers,” said Lee Edmunds, Manager of Motorcycle Marketing Communications at American Honda. “Montesa’s Honda-powered four-stroke Cota models have long ruled both the outdoor and indoor World Trials Championships, and this light, powerful, agile new motorcycle is already enjoying success in international competition. With the Cota 300RR, riders will be ready to tackle the most challenging sections.”

Montesa Cota 300RR

Currently being campaigned by Cody Webb in the AMA NATC MotoTrials USA National Trials Championship, the brand-new Cota 300RR is a unique, competition-focused motorcycle developed for the most demanding trials riders. Compared to the Cota 4RT260, the Cota 300RR’s redesigned 288cc engine has a longer stroke and larger bore, resulting in increased power and torque across the range, and it has a programmable ECU that allows fine-tuning for varying weather and terrain conditions. Through the use of lightweight components like a titanium header pipe and aluminum fork, weight has been reduced by over four pounds. A front brake with a four-piston monoblock caliper is standard, as are wheels with aluminum D.I.D rims and black-anodized aluminum hubs.
