AURORA, Ill. – Feld Motor Sports® announced today that Ricky Carmichael, a five-time Monster Energy Supercross champion, will be in attendance this Saturday night at the fourth round of AMSOIL Arenacross, featuring Ricky Carmichael’s Road to Supercross, from Greensboro, N.C., and the Greensboro Coliseum.
Affectionately known as the “G.O.A.T.” (Greatest of All Time), Carmichael is the driving factor behind the Road to Supercross. As an elite amateur rider and someone who needed time to acclimate to the challenges of the professional level of the sport, Carmichael knows first hand what value there is in a true development system that allows riders to maximize their potential throughout their journey as a pro.
With rising Road to Supercross stars like Aaron Plessinger, Jacob Hayes, Keith Tucker, and more already making a name for themselves in AMSOIL Arenacross, it’s obvious that the introduction of the program was a successful endeavor and a much-needed initiative that only serves to benefit the overall health of the sport and its riders. Plessinger made history just two weeks ago by becoming the first Road to Supercross competitor to win an overall in the Arenacross Class, doing so in just his second night of professional competition.
“The Road to Supercross has already turned out better than I could have ever imagined,” said Carmichael. “It’s obvious that this sport has some extremely talented young riders ready to take that next step and now they have the proper platform and avenue to do so. Now all the fans of AMSOIL Arenacross have the chance to see these up-and-comers in person at the very beginning of their careers and will be able to brag about it once these kids reach their full potential in Monster Energy Supercross.”
Carmichael’s visit to Greensboro is to not only support the Road to Supercross and its talented young competitors, but also engage with the fans of AMSOIL Arenacross. Carmichael will be a part of the Track Party inside the Greensboro Coliseum on Saturday afternoon from 5-6 p.m. EST, signing autographs for those in attendance and welcoming North Carolina fans that have been awaiting the return of AMSOIL Arenacross since it last visit during the 2009 season. Additionally, Carmichael will be introduced during opening ceremonies before taking to the track inside the Greensboro Coliseum for a hot lap alongside the top three riders in the championship – Babbitt’s Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki presented by Maxxis teammates Zach Ames and Tyler Bowers, and Motosport.com/MJM Express/Spinechillers Racing Kawasaki’s Michael McDade.
The action from Greensboro begins at 7 p.m. ET this Saturday night.
