Midwest Vintage MX Highlights

Vintage Motocross is alive and well here in the Midwest and the proof is in the support and participation in the 2013 MWVMX Race Series.  Between April and October the series traveled to Mustang Sally's MX Park in Indiana, CMJ Raceway in Wisconsin, MC Motopark & Joliet Motorsports Park in Illinois, Woodstock County Fairgrounds in Woodstock Illinois and Wabash Cannonball MX in Wabash Indiana.  Each of these tracks offered special memories new and old and we are thankful to them for their willingness to work with a small but growing entity like Midwest VMX.

Friends were reunited after many years of being off the bike and new "family" was formed.  As the season rolled into full swing the word was spreading and the excitement was contagious.  Our Facebook group grew with a lot of Race photos and recaps of the fun had by all.

The greatest highlight of the season was our 2-day  Race Event in Woodstock IL that included the very first 1617MX Hall of Fame inductions. Martin Horn, Wally Wallenberg, Ted Kieper, and Delores & Emil Stepanovic were the first to be honored for their work and contribution. This will be an annual event that highlights and honors the very people that created and supported Motocross from the beginning in our region of the country. Restoring and preserving our history for our sport is our goal!
