Kill Cliff Millville Report
Kill Cliff Spring Creek Race Report
Presented by Liquid Performance
Millville, MN – Team Kill Cliff/Dragon Racing Fuels/Cernics KTM rider Jacob Hayes continues to make progress in his rookie season with a solid first moto and a little bad luck in moto 2.
With a solid start in Moto 1, Hayes stayed mid pack the entire race and finished 19th. In Moto 2, Hayes came around the first turn in 7th and dropped back to 11th after the first lap. As the race went on, Hayes battled back and forth with several riders and found a solid position in 16th. With 2 laps to go, coming through the first set of sand rollers proved to be a stopping point for Hayes as debris jammed his rear brake causing his bike to stall. After restarting his bike, the bike stalled again coming through the second set of sand rollers. Hayes limped over the finish line in 30th.
“I was real happy with the race”, stated Hayes. “The bike ran great, I felt good, and I am improving each week. In the second moto, I was a solid top 20 but things happen and something got caught in my rear break causing the bike to stall. It surprised me because the bike was running great and I had no power failure, it just stalled and I could not figure out why. I got going and then it happened again in the second set of sand rollers. All I could do was try my best to get to the finish line and salvage a great weekend.” Hayes went on to say… ”I am happy with my progress. Running two motos in the top 20 was my goal and I did that. Now, I am focusing on a pair of top 15’s at Southwick. I am really excited to race that track and focus on getting better each race. The team did a great job this weekend and I am really making progress.”
Jacob went (19)(30) on the day giving him 22nd overall.
David Buller continued to make progress this weekend and finished (33)(31) on the day for 35th overall.
