Open Letter From Bobby Bonds
Bakersfield, Ca: "Hey everyone, I wanted to write and clear up a few things that have been discussed over the past three weeks and my departure from Zip Ty & the Factory Husky Off-Road program. First off, it was never my intention to leave the team mid-season, but after multiple races it was apparent that my program was not headed in the direction that I had planned in the beginning of the season.
At first, I went in with all intentions and patience surrounding the bike and hoping that I could help develop it and make it work as a motocross/off-road bike for the conditions that we are dealt with out here on the west coast, but after several months and halfway through the WORCS season, I found that I just couldn't adjust to the bike and fit it to my riding style. I have always been tough on bikes and I knew going in that it was going to be a challenge, but I just couldn't adapt and I felt it was time for a change. At no time, was Ty Davis or the entire team unprofessional or led me to believe in anything that was discussed prior to the season.
They are a top notch team from Ty to Steve to the entire mechanics and service staff. They always treated me well and were always there for me to try and help form my program.
As we all understand Husky is trying to make a jump back into motocross/off-road and with the right development with Ty and his team they could make a really nice motocross /off road bike. Seeing that throughout the year there was no development coming from the factory or interest in making the bikes more motocross friendly, I realized I need to do something else. I wanted to take the time to thank Ty, the entire Zip-Ty crew and the wonderful sponsors that are behind his team as they have a successful program.
Thanks again for taking time to read this and I appreciate everyone's support over the years and the years to come.
