AURORA, Ill. – Feld Motor Sports® announced today that Monster Energy Team Green rider Adam Cianciarulo, of Port Orange, Fla., will headline the Super-Mini class at the inaugural Monster Energy Cup at Las Vegas’ Sam Boyd Stadium October 15. Cianciarulo will be among 20 of the top Super-Mini racers selected from the AMA Loretta Lynn’s Amateur National Championships.
Cianciarulo, one of the most decorated amateur motocross racers of all time, will be one of 15 of the nation’s top amateur racers lining up at the starting gate to battle it out in the Super-Mini class at the Monster Energy Cup.
"I wouldn't mind winning a million dollars, but that is going to have to wait until I get on the big bikes," said Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green rider Adam Cianciarulo. "It is going to be great riding the same track as the pros and I'm really excited for the event. I only get to race supercross once a year, so having a mix of supercross and motocross obstacles will be really cool. Las Vegas is always a lot of fun and the opportunity to race on the same track as all the great riders is going to be awesome."
Representing the group of top amateurs that will earn their professional license in 2013 and 2014, Cianciarulo has won 52 Amateur National Championships including seven AMA Amateur National Championships at Loretta Lynn's. At 14 years of age he has been a member of Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green since 2005. Dominant both on and off the track, Cianciarulo authors a monthly column in Transworld Motocross, which talks about his exploits as both a teenager and a racer.
The unique Monster Energy Cup hybrid track will consist of supercross/motocross terrain and will have a tremendous motocross-style influence, making it unlike any other stadium race in the world. This track will be the perfect blend of supercross and motocross combined and created into the ultimate battleground. The Monster Energy Cup posts a $250,000 purse with the winner walking away with a $100,000 check, and for the “first time ever” $1 Million will be paid to a rider that wins all three main events.
Tickets for the 2011 Monster Energy Cup can be purchased at the Thomas & Mack Center Box Office, the Galleria at Sunset, all Stations and Fiesta Casinos, online at www.UNLVtickets.com, www.supercrossonline.com or by phone at (866) 8-FINALS. Tickets will be available at the Sam Boyd Stadium Box Office on the day of the event only.
