Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Honda Race Report: High Point
June 14, 2011, 2:20pm
While the overall results from the weekend don't look that amazing, there were several great rides from the TLD crew in Mount Morris last weekend. Christian Craig continues to impress in the premier class and he put together a great ride in moto one. After starting near the front, Craig suffered stomach cramps and fell slightly to ninth position. He was poised to score another great overall finish with. Solid ride in the second moto but a series of crashes in the wet, sloppy conditions relegated him to twentieth position. While it wasn't the overall the team hoped for, it was a good learning experience for Christian.
The 250 boys had an up-and-down day as well. Cole Seely finished in eleventh position in moto one and his teammate, Travis Baker, followed him through in fifteenth. it was a rough moto for the TLD boys. The second moto saw Seely near the front running inn second position for much of the race. Cole lost several spots but earned fifth in the moto. Baker also stepped up his game and scored a ninth in the second moto. Cole and Travis ended the day in seventh and eleventh overall.
"It was kind of a tough day for us," said team manager Tyler Keefe. "I think Christian learned a lot today and he has been getting more and more confident. Cole and Travis just had some bad luck here and there but they are riding well. if we can have a few rhinos go our way and get good starts next weekend there's no reason we can't be on the podium."
