CORONA, Calif. - Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's Dean Wilson will compete at Cowboys Stadium for the first time this weekend as he carries the momentum of a big win from Toronto to the Lone Star State. Hoping for a repeat from 2010 in Dallas, Baggett returns to the venue of his first-career win.
Coming off an impressive win in Toronto, Wilson knows he needs to stay focused on grabbing more wins over the next three races to stay close in the championship. Although he is 16 points down, he is determined to be there at the end.
“Anything can happen in racing and I am going to do what I can to chip away at the points lead,” said Wilson. “I think I put a lot of pressure on myself at the beginning of the season and now I am just going to go out to race. There is less pressure now, but I know I can win and hopefully I’ll be able to get some good points this weekend.”
While Wilson will be visiting Cowboys Stadium for the first time, Baggett will be returning to the place where he scored his first professional supercross victory. He hopes his past win can bring him the confidence he needs to get back on the podium.
“I’ve had some bad races the past few weeks and I’m ready to put it all behind me,” said Baggett. “Dallas has good memories for me and I think that will give me the boost I need to be back on top.”
The Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team heads to Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas for Round 7 of the AMA Supercross Lites, Eastern Region series. With only three rounds left for the East Coast riders, Wilson currently sits in second in the championship standings with 122 points, while teammate Baggett is fourth with 100 points.
