Merced, CA: The Legends & Heroes MX Tour 2011 and Michael Petersen of Michaels Action Art are working together in commissioning the first limited production of Classic Legends & Heroes Moto Art. The timeless drawings will represent the action heroes of the sport of Motocross and will be available in limited quantities to the public. The Limited Edition Art prints will be titled "Legends and Heroes". Each individual drawing has a “printed signature" from each rider including Bob Hannah, Jeremy McGrath, Brad Lackey, Malcolm Smith, Travis Pastrana, Rodger DeCoster, Ricky Carmichael, Jeff Ward and David Bailey. And each print will be hand signed and numbered by Michael Petersen, the Artist. Mr. Petersen’s art has been shown in many galleries from New York, Malibu, Laguna beach, Seattle, Racer X magazine, and Troy Lee Designs to name a few.
Michael J. Petersen has coupled the fascination with speed and machines with creative art since his early childhood. At the age of nine, Petersen began creating motorcycle models to scale. At eleven, he began his first art class in junior high school and continued to develop as an artist throughout his formative years.
Petersen grew up in Ephrata, a small town in Eastern Washington. Petersen started riding at age four. It was one of his favorite activities with his father. Petersen has a lifetime love of riding, racing, mountain climbing and photography. Action and outdoor-related subjects have always been Petersen's passion, his focus on the motorcycle scene because of his interest in sport, its’ incredible athletes, and the positive influence the sport has on youth and families fuels his passion.
“We are excited to be working with Alex Moroz and the 2011 Legends & Heroes MX Tour. When Alex approached me with the idea I was very happy to help out the cause and develop a special piece of history to support the Moto Museum project”, states Michael Petersen.
Alex Moroz managing partner agrees “This is a great opportunity for the tour to raise funds in building the traveling Moto Museum and share with the fans some very cool and unique art work of their favorite champs. In reviving the glory of the past, we hope to elevate the importance of our rich heritage and bring to the forefront a series of art work that the fans will enjoy”.
