Rockstar Energy Suzuki Grabs Top Tens at A2
Martin Davalos started his day with a third best time in lites timed qualifying. His RM-Z250 powered him to a strong, consistent ride that resulted in a second place in his heat race. In the main, the Rockstar Energy Suzuki lites rider was fifth at the start and rode consistent for a sixth-place finish.
“I got a good qualifying time in at practice,” said Davalos. “Then I went into my heat race and my Suzuki RM-Z powered me to a good third-place start. I was able to get to second and rode real consistent. I felt confident going into the main and got a decent start, but by the last half of the race I started think about who was behind me too much. I need to work on that. My Rockstar Energy Suzuki team did a great job and I’m looking forward to a little break and then San Diego.”
Morais started his day qualifying 12th. His Suzuki powered him to a fourth-place finish in his heat race. In the main, the Rockstar Energy Suzuki rider was sixth at the start and rode a strong and consistent race finishing just behind his teammate in seventh.
“I twisted my ankle in the first practice,” said Morais. “I kind of babied it through the rest of the practices and then I had it taped and Asterisk worked on it a bit. My heat race was a little tight and I got passed and ended up fourth. I had a great start in the main on my Rockstar Energy Suzuki but I ended up dropping back and finished seventh. I was a little disappointed, but we’ll build on it and I’ll take a little time and rest my ankle and get ready for San Diego."
The 2011 Rockstar Energy Suzuki team’s next event is Saturday, February 12th, at Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX. You can meet the Rockstar Energy Suzuki team riders at Stubbs 59, 10430 Southwest Freeway, in Houston, TX from 5 - 6 PM on Friday, February 11th.
