  • Yamaha Returns as an Official Motorcycle Manufacturer and Ticket Outlet of Monster Energy SX

AURORA, Ill.  – Feld Motor Sports announced today that Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., based in Cypress, Calif., has renewed their partnership agreement to be an official motorcycle manufacturer and ticket outlet of Monster Energy Supercross, an FIM World Championship, that begins January 8, 2011 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif.

The 2011 Monster Energy Supercross season marks the 13th year that Yamaha has been a committed partner to the championship. As part of the sponsorship initiative, over 120 Yamaha dealerships nationwide will serve as official AMA Supercross ticket outlets for the general public. Individuals who purchase tickets through any participating Yamaha dealership will receive a free Monster Energy Supercross Pit Pass, which provides fans the opportunity to spend a day in the pits and the chance to meet the superstars of the sport and get autographs.

As a strong supporter of the sport, Yamaha sees great promotional value in sponsoring the championship, which attracts more than three-quarters of a million fans in some of the nation’s premier markets.

"We are very proud to be continuing our long standing involvement with Feld Motor Sports," said Bob Starr, general manager for Yamaha’s Motorsports Group. "And the fact that our dealerships share in the passion for this sport just makes the relationship with Feld and the fans that much stronger!"

For the first time ever, Yamaha will be hosting a Fly Away Sweepstakes where two lucky fans, chosen at random, and a guest of choice will be awarded an all expense paid trip to the Las Vegas Monster Energy Supercross finals. In addition, one of the lucky sweepstakes finalists will win a brand new Yamaha YZ450F GYTR kitted off-road motorcycle during the Las Vegas event.

"We are thrilled to extend our relationship with Yamaha," said Dave Prater, director of supercross, Feld Motor Sports. "Yamaha’s commitment as a sponsor, whether it’s through fan sweepstakes, national advertising units, or serving as the official supercross ticket outlet, significantly helps advance the sport to new levels."

Throughout the 2011 season, Yamaha will receive traditional online and in-stadium branding as well as exclusive in-show features. In addition, Yamaha will receive exposure through CBS Sports broadcasting units.

Fans can learn more about the Fly Away Sweepstakes and participating Yamaha dealer ticket outlet locations by visiting www.SupercrossOnline.com or www.yamaha-motor.com.
