March 11, 2010 2:39pm
While the Monster Energy Supercross season has moved into the second half, the amateur nationals are just getting underway. This week, amateur riders from all over the United States have gathered in Lake Whitney, Texas for the first race since the Mini-Olympics last November. The Thor MX amateur group of riders looks to be contenders in just about every class in the field, with Thor sponsoring more than 30 riders participating in the amateur ranks. Cooper Webb, Jessy Nelson, Justin Bogle, Jeremy Martin and Tristan Charboneau are just a handful of the Thor MX riders who will be competing for titles this season in what is an extremely talented group of racers.
We’ll have more from these riders and others throughout the season on thormx.com, Facebook, and YouTube. Thor TV will also be onsite next week at Oak Hill to chat with the riders as they prepare for the third race of the amateur season.
In case you missed it earlier this week, Thor announced its second limited edition gear release of the season. The Grid Core kit is now available through Parts Unlimited dealers and will be gone shortly. Act fast to make sure you get your Grid Core kit before they are sold out!
Back on the supercross track, the Monster Energy Supercross series is headed to Toronto this weekend. Ryan Villopoto is well within reach of the title as he sits only 20 points behind current leader Ryan Dungey.
In the East Coast Lites class, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki and Thor MX rider Christophe Pourcel has been perfect on the season so far. Not only has Christophe been solid, teammate Dean Wilson is also coming on strong. He finished third last week in Daytona, and will no doubt be competing for the top podium spot each week for the remainder of the season.
We’ll have more news and updates following the race this weekend from Toronto on Facebook. You can become a fan of Thor MX on Facebook by searching “Thor MX – Official Page”.
