Barcia, Tedesco, Metcalfe, Davalos and More on DMXS Radio Tonight
March 3, 2010 4:03pm
Another round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series is in the books and Atlanta did not disappoint the massive Georgia Dome crowd. Geico Powersports Honda’s Justin Barcia is a carpetbagger from up north that has settled at MTF in Cairo, Georgia for the last several years and now calls the Peach State home. He may have finished 18th in one of the best Lites races in recent memory, but earned 60,000+ new fans with an inspired ride that electrified the crowd right from the drop of the gate. We will hear his take on the race and whether or not Pourcel knows his name now.
In a bizarre twist to the start off the day, Star Racing’s Martin Davalos was disqualified after an on-track altercation with Barcia, a fellow MTF resident. We were there several years back for Martin’s first podium in Atlanta and just wanted to give him a chance to tell what happened in his own words. We know he is a great kid and wanted to put this story to rest so that he can get back on the track with a clean slate in Daytona.
Valli Motorsport’s Ivan Tedesco had a great night in Hot-Sauce-lanta just finishing off the podium in an eventful main event that also had the crowd on their feet. Ivan’s ride came together late in the silly-season, but is settling in with his new team just fine. We always enjoy having Ivan on and will get his take as the series heads to Daytona where momentum is often gained or lost for the second half of the season.
It’s so good to see Geico Powersports Honda’s Brett Metcalfe back on the box. He had to sit out last year’s SX season with an injury, but put in an impressive outdoor season where he finished 3rd overall. Metty is a quiet rider, but one of the hardest working and always seems to rebound from adversity. I’m sure he is looking for the Atlanta podium to be one of many this year.
The all-new Nuclear Cowboyz Freestyle Motocross tour is coming to Birmingham, Alabama on March 6-7 at the BJCC Arena. The tour has assembled the world’s greatest cast of FMX riders including legends like Nate Adams, Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg, and Ronnie Faisst to take this ground breaking two-hour scripted performance to the next level.
