Bobby Bonds Injury Update

Bakersfield, Ca: 2/17/10- Bobby Bonds received some good news yesterday as he left the Dr.'s office, following that ugly get off at Anaheim stadium last weekend where he suffered a broken collar bone in his heat race early in the evening. Bonds' injury wasn't exactly as bad as thought. The collar bone is broken, but cleanly as they say and not misaligned.
"Bobby's injury wasn't as bad as originally thought, said Dr. Jondy Cohen, orthopedic surgeon out of Modesto, Ca who has worked on some of the best in the sport. He actually broke the bone in two spots but there was no misalignment or overlapping of the collar bone. With that said, I saw no reason to risk infection by opening him up and having possible hardware failure, and everything else that comes along with surgeries these days. He will spend the next 3-4 weeks healing up and should be able to get back in the bike at that time."
Bobby will miss the next round of WORCS in two weeks at Buffflo Bills Casino Resort in Primm, NV, but hopes to return March 28th for Round #3 of the WORCS series at Lake Havasu, Az. This race would mark the 7 week off time and hopefully give Bonds that recovery he needs to have any chance at a top spot for the WORCS 2010 series.
