  • TiLUBE/Brown Motorsports Supercross Round 1 Race Report:
ANAHEIM, CA- A near capacity crowd packed the Anaheim Stadium for the first round of the seventeen race series. Fans were treated to an exciting night of spectacular racing!

Nick Wey got the day off to a good start aboard his TiLUBE-Brown Motorsports KX450F motorcycle. Nick made it cleanly through the afternoon’s practice sessions landing in heat race one to begin the evening’s racing.

When the gate dropped for the first Supercross class heat race, Wey powered off the line with a great start and found himself in 3rd after the first lap. During the 3rd and 4th lap Chad Reed was applying pressure to get by Wey. By the end of the 4th lap Reed made a clean pass. Wey went on to qualify 8th place for the Supercross main event.

As the riders lined up for the supercross main event, Wey took his place to the inside of the grid and had the perfect line to the first turn. When the gate dropped for the main event, Wey charged into the unusual dog leg first turn in the middle of the pack. As the first lap came to an end, Wey was far back in the pack riding in 15th position. For the next few laps, Wey put his head down and made several valuable passes and by the 4th lap he had managed to gain several positions and eventually made it up to 12th place. A 16 lap battle ensued with Tommy Hahn and Grant Langston for the top ten finishing honors. Langston eventually secured the 10th place position leaving Hahn in 11th and Wey in 12th.

Wey commented after the race “I had fun today and am enjoying my new team. With the help of title sponsors TiLUBE and Brown Motorsports I hope to achieve my goals for the 2010 season.”

Next weekend the series travels out to Phoenix, Arizona and Chase Field for the second round of the AMA Monster Energy Supercross Series. Be sure to stop by the TiLUBE-Brown Motorsports truck to show your support and to have your picture taken with Nick Wey from 12:30 pm – 5:30 pm. See you there! photo: vitalmx
